Single leg raises

January 2nd, 2010 by David

This is not only a great exercise for the quadriceps but it also helps strengthen the abdomen.

• Lie flat on your back (put a towel or blanket down if it makes you more comfortable).
• Bend your left leg so your foot is flat on the ground.
• Your right leg should be stretched out with your heel flat on the ground.
• Keeping your right leg straight raise it up to where your right knee is next to your left knee.
• Hold the leg for 3 seconds then lower it.
• Do this ten times and repeat with the other leg being raised.

Gradually increase the number of times that you do the exercise till you reach 15 reps. After that add another set of 10 repetitions.
